It's Going To Be An Award Winning Year! - Hollywood Themed Bulletin Board

Red Carpet and Hollywood Themed Back To School Bulletin Board Idea

Inspired by the Academy Awards, Mrs. Hewlett {featured designer at Clutter-Free Classroom} created this Oscar-worthy door display to introduce and welcome her new 'cast members' to 'Studio 142'! We love the personalized Oscars, all of the fun Hollywood-inspired details, and the positive tone this message sets for the year!

It's Going To Be An Award Winning Year!

  • Background: Red bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "It's Going To Be An Award Winning Year!"
  • Border: The original design does not include a trimmer, but if you wish to, you could add a film border {either with a purchased trimmer or use actual negatives/film rolls}, trim the edge with glittery star cutouts, or even add yellow circle cutouts to look like marquee lights.
  • Decoration: 1) The Oscars. Find a clip art image of the award online and use word processing software to add each student's name to each statue {see example below}. Print onto white card stock, cut, laminate, and arrange the cutouts around the display.Hollywood Themed Back To School Bulletin Board Idea2) The Marquee. Cut a large rectangle from a piece of black bulletin board paper or poster board. Cut a second, slightly smaller rectangle from white bulletin board paper or poster board, mounting it on top of the black rectangle. Use a black pen to draw lines onto the white rectangle and letter stickers/bulletin board letters to spell out the desired message - i.e. "NOW PLAYING - Mrs. Nelson's Stars!", etc. 3) The Details. Surround the door and fill in the gaps with some fun theater/Hollywood themed paraphernalia. Create a "Winner" envelope for "BEST CLASS", taking after the new Marc Friedland design {pictured below}.

And, even though each of your kiddos' names is featured on an Oscar statue, you might also consider posting a "Cast List" decorated with some fun clip art.
