Do you refresh your classroom helper and behavior management bulletin boards with festive decorations for the holidays? If you do, here's an adorable Santa themed door design from Suzan at Krazy for Kindergarten that offers a fun twist... and a great economics lesson!

He Knows If You've Been Bad or Good

Each day, students are invited to earn "Santa bucks" by completing all assigned classroom duties, following classroom rules, helping their classmates, and the like. Once all students have left for the day, Suzan tallies the amount of "pay" each student has earned that day and places it in their goody bag on the display. At the end of the season, she sets up a "Santa Shop" where students can turn in the monies they've earned for treats and trinkets.

We think this is a great way to inspire your kiddos to take their duties in the classroom seriously, reward positive behavior, and teach students how an economy works {i.e. we trade our time for money/something of value, then trade these for things we need/want}.

Use word processing software to create your own "Santa bucks" like these at Diva Girl Parties and Stuff...

...or you could draw your own, copying the "money" onto brightly colored card stock. 4) The Snowflakes. Decorate the empty space on the board with snowflakes cut from white card stock - either find snowflake templates online to print and cut or fold and cut your own designs.
